Comfortable. Compact. Capable. Three words that encompass the all new John Deere 5R series tractors which were recently released to the Marlborough Viticulture market by Drummond & Etheridge.

John Deere tractors have a proud history in Marlborough, dating back to 1991 when the first 5000 series tractor was introduced.

“The long standing relationship between John Deere and the Marlborough Viticulture industry is one worth celebrating,” says Marlborough Viticultural Sales Consultant, Mark Allison. “We’re pleased to release the new 5R series tractors into an industry that has gone from strength to strength.”

The American built 5R series tractors have been designed with customer feedback and operating needs in mind.

“These tractors offer operators the ultimate in comfort and manoeuvrability,” says Allison. “We’re confident they will be good fit in the Marlborough region.”

The spacious cab provides premium comfort for operators while the new digital corner post display, sloped bonnet and 15 degree swivel seat allows for greater visibility with fewer obstructions.

These narrow machines boast a rear width of 1715mm and an overall front width, hub to hub, of 1840mm. A unique, single piece curved frame design provides more space for tyres when turning, resulting in an industry leading turning radius of just 3.5m, which is tighter than its predecessor, a John Deere 5080RN on 20 inch fronts.

The 5R line-up offers a range of easy-to-use transmissions perfectly matched for all applications and speeds. With 16 to 32 forward speeds from 0.45 km/h through to 40km/h, manual or electronic shifting. The choice is yours.

With horsepower options ranging from 90-125 hp and a 117L/min hydraulic pump these tractors are not only agile but also high performing. A unique 360 degree lighting option also offers operators the ability to work around the clock, in any condition.

Low servicing costs, comprehensive factory warranty and a dedicated parts and service support team allows you to keep your total cost of ownership down over time.

“Plus, with finance available and options to lease we can tailor a package to suit the requirements of your business,” says Allison.
